Back in Canada as a kid I had an old Daisy .177. Unfortunately the only way to kill the squirrels was to beat them with it, since it was so underpowered.

Thumbs down Re: Hello

Feinwerkbau Sport, the HW35, BSA Airsporter and Webley Mk III, and yes, even the Relum Tornado, I had or used them all. The tornado had a double spring, just cleaned out the old mans shed and binned a few of the springs. The tornado was a horrible beast of a gun. The airsporters and mercury were excellent value for money with plenty of power. Still have the webley and FWB.

We didn't have alot of those guns back in the day in Canada, just a cross section of daisy's, Crosman's and the like. Good for plinking but little else !

I asked my local gunsmith about tuning the old BSF I have but they won't touch it, for legal reasons. So I guess I am just going to hunker down and do the job myself...I'll let you know how it goes...

ok, i'm getting bored waiting for my fac to come through. Also the rats are becoming increasingly bold, even in the day time. So I'm thinking of getting a 12 ft/lb rifle as a stop gap until the FAC comes through and I can buy something powerful. So I guess the question is, What 12 ft/lb gun? I want a break barrel since I want a self contained pest control gun, and not be tied at this time to pumps/divers bottles, but otherwise I'm open minded about new or used , british made or foreign. I think as a minimum I need a sound modulator, and a scope. Any thoughts ?

I forgot to mention that I would prefer a .22 or even .25 at a push...

finally on this wish list is for something around 200 to 300 pounds. Not comically cheap, because as father used to say ,"why buy something twice ?", but in that range because this will only ever be a second gun.

I'm disappointed, I was looking forward to hear about the refurb.
TW Chambers on the internet have all the gear you would need mail order.
Main spring, leather piston seal lubricant and all other lubricants. Plenty of others offer similar service. I would say you could do the work in an afternoon.
But I hear what you are saying, so could suggest BSA airsporter/Mercury, as they are from my era and I know they are powerful, robust and fit your spec. should be plenty used examples about. See what your gun shop has in and try them for fit etc. You should be able to pick up a combination and have a bit of back up in case of bother.
See what they have available and ask on here before purchase to get some comments etc.
