Question 1 gun only...springer or PCP?

If you could only own one air rifle, would it be a springer (including gas ram), a pre charged pnuematic or a pnuematic of the self contained variety?

As well as the your vote please post the reasons for your choice if possible

My choice would be a springer because they are great fun and also self contained

Cheers,
NeilH

I would go for PCP... for better accuracy (well in my hands), easier to use, (Lazy git) and have the option of a multi shot (lazy git again)

I'll go PCP. Multi shot reasons are very high, less recoil, faster reload between shots even if on a single shot tray. Quieter, I think, compared to waht I have shot anyway. Perhaps, to be honest, even a feel of having a rifle in your hands with a cocking bolt. Ok, I'm embarassed but honest.

I think most people would have started on a springer if not owned one cost is often a factor involved especially as a youngster. Altough I do conceed that the spriners now are a tad differnet to my old Haenel 303 break barrel. In fcat it was TX200 that got me back into shooting again.

Now if you question was a springer or a PCP washing up with 10,000 pellets while your strandard on a desert island...well, that might change as Robinsons compressor was a tad tempermental

Springer as they are self contained and more reliable.

I went for PCP because accuracy is, for me, the primary factor. Then comes consistancy. They're quieter and a lot less fierce than a springer too. The third option is a non-starter for me - had one and didn't like it.
