jcf1 and myself amongst many shoots - have a large Fruit Farm to shoot over around 500 acres in total - in corner of a Strwberry field is a massive rabbit warren which we are trying to thin out - during a wander round last week we were amazed to see a very large buck which was totally black in colour - and totally wild he was gone in an instant as soon as he caught sight of us.
I for one have never seen a Black wild rabbit nor any other colour other than the normal Rabbit colour.
Has anyone else seen this type of thing??
We are now having a little contest to see who nails it 1st
I did think of offering the shoot out on a pay a £5 on entry shoot - the one who nails the Black Rabbit gets a prize - but I want it for myself - its personal now; as it keeps avoiding getting its head in the cross hairs of my scope

There's Ginger rabbits over Lydden valley although the landowner won't have them shot and there are several black one's along Alkham valley. Both colours
stand out like a beacon but I've never seen both types together in the same patch.
At a little village called Egginton just over the derbyshire boarder from staffordshire there are a load of black rabbits and they have been around for over 25 years that I know of
The are often seen sitting near the side of the flyover on the A38 between Willington and Egginton
and there is a big cat around this area that haas been seen mainy times over the years but never caught
