Default Crosman Powapell

Anyone tried them in 177?
Wanted some AA Hunter but not available in 177 so thought I'd give them a try

their not bad at all mate. I used to use them in a falcon fn12 .177 and the accuracy is quite good, your better off with domeheads though if you want accuracy over longer distances (35-45 yds)

on the 22 the aa hunters were more accurate than the domed ones.

Fancy the heavier powerpel as the 410 doesnt seem to like aa domes, bisley magnums are a bit too heavy so I'll see how they compare

Powapell are very expensive. Accupel are cheaper and probably better.

Personally i'd stay away from crosman pellets, they crude up your barrel very quickly.
Some people swear by them, but i got fed up with cleaning my barrel after using them, they are a good accurate pellet in most barrels.
I've switch to AA's after they came on the market, and i have not have to clean my barrel since - yepie
If you practice on Cards you will see a difference after about 100 shots on a clean barrel with crosmans, your groups will open up slightly and get the odd flier ! you'll need to clean your barrel to get back to the original accuracy of the pellet.
I can't see the point in going down the road of pointed/semi pointed pellets in .177 They penatrate enough to start with and are usually not as accurate as domed.
Plus the BC is not as good, on the AA field .22 with a 50 yds zero when i tried the AA Hunter i had 1.5" extra drop, more to adjustments to contend with ! doh !

Just talking about the AA's you said the Hunter grouped better, did you try differnt size heads, were they the same size, try all 3 sizes and find the most accurate, you won't be disapointed !

take care and happy shooting.

Regards
Nigel

Hi:
I have tried Powapel/Acupel when I had my Lightning. Not impresssed, nice tin though. At the time Lazapel grouped better.
