Mines liking Air Arms Diablo Field at the moment.
nice snug fit in the barrel, and end up looking like 5p misshapes.

Ta.

I changed over to Superdomes on the weekend and the gun seems to like them better than the Wasps. I zeroed the scope in the garden at 25 meters for now, I'm not as confident as I used to be at the moment beyond that range as something isn't right with my rig. The scope kept fogging up internally yesterday when I was zeroing. I was happy with my groups though, I was still getting the odd flyer but put it down to me.

I went out with the gun last night, missed my first rabbit but got one right behind the eye 2 hours later.

I'm going to get a new scope and a V-Mach kit for the 97 as I'm sure my problems are being caused by either the scope, or the internals. Even if the flyers are being caused by something else, I can then rule out the scope and internals and in theory, I should have a better performing gun.

Thanks Les, first part of the plan has been completed and a new scope sits on top of my gun, it's a Tasco (whatever happened to the quality?) 3-9x40 IR.

Tasco scopes don't seem to be what they used to be. I used Moonlighters before and they were top quality but there is a definate inferior feel to this one. There also seems to be a problem internally, there seem to be fibres or scratches all over one of the lenses, it looks like the reticule lens to me. Not good for a £170 scope.

The tune up will be next but I'm not decided as yet if it will be a V-Mach kit or sending it off to Steve to do.

I had an eye on it Les mate but I'd just bought the Tasco. If only I'd waited a few days.

The Tasco is total poo.

Try H&N FTT in the 97. They are damn good in 99% of Weihrauch rifles.

I finished fitting the V-Mach today, what a satisfying job. I was a bit gutted that I caught the edge of one of the trigger unit retaining pin holes in the cylinder with the punch but it's just cosmetic and the stock covers it anyway.

I've test fired the gun, cocking is much smoother and the twang has totally disappeared. There is no dieseling whatsoever, the old piston seal smelt very smokey. I've only fitted two spring compression washers as recommended in the instructions and the gun is punching holes straight through a 1/4 inch piece of ply, something that it wasn't doing before. I'm going to get it chronoed just incase.

I took the Tasco scopes back, I wasn't happy with them ( the Gunshop owner wasn't too happy either but hey ho) and ended up buying a Hawke 3-12x50 Nite Eye. I don't know if this scope is any good yet as I overlooked the fact that I'd need high mounts to mount it but they certainly seem better than the Tasco poo.

I've ordered mounts and 24hr delivery so hopefully, I'll be zeroing tomorrow night.
