Please explain.
Ok peeps, not trying to prevoke owt here and this is a honest question.
what are the differances between HFT and FT?
which one came first?
which one uses what type of tackle?
come on, educate a non comp shooter.
Just thinking, to some of you peeps this is gona be like the "which is best off road, auto or manual?" question that appears on the Landy forums from time to time.
thats why I didn't ask which is better, its subjective/personal.

Re: Please explain.
im not exactly sure but ft you have to take shots at a target with your foot on a peg , taking plenty of time but hft i belive is similar but you neeb to be quicker and not ajusting your scope ( zome in ) when on target.. supposed to be as you hunt.

Re: Please explain.
FT is mostly shot from a sitting position, you can adjust your scope to give you a good indication to the distance
HFT mostly shot in the prone position, does have a few kneeling and standing shots, you can not adjust your scope once the comp has started, you have to judge the distance by eye and adjust your hold over or windage accordingly
this is a basic understanding, hope it helps

No No No, I tried to keep it simple, if you do a google search for UKAHFT you will find the rules, read and digest, they are simple rules to even the field for all competitors, the more complicated the rules the more they can become misinterpreted and sometimes bent by the unsporting

Re: Please explain.
There are more rules in HFT than in FT !
HFT you can use any position except sitting , unless you are specifically instructed to stand or kneel.
You may use the peg as a rifle support , but a part of you must always touch the peg.
You may NOT adjust your paralax from the start of the shoot to the end.
Shots are not as far as FT.
FT you may use any positon , unless it is dedicated stand or kneel.
You may sit on a bag ( specified size.)
You may adjust your scope.
You may not rest your rifle on any fixed object, that is why sitting is popular, rest rifle on elbow or knee.
Longer shots out to 55 yards.
FT Scores are 1 for a kill , nothing on a plate.
HFT scores are 2 for a kill and 1 for a plate .
