Default V-Mach.

Hi gang.

With my new gun purchase on hold for now , I have decided to spend some of my savings on my 97k. I've already bought a new scope, I think the old one had a problem but that's another story. I'm now considering changing the internals of the gun and have thought about either getting it tuned or fitting a V-Mach kit myself. It's not so much a power increase I'm after, the gun is already powerful enough without being illegal but I just want to make the gun a bit more user friendly as it can be a bit of a brute in the field. I have to say though, it has 'calmed down' a bit this last 100 shots.

Anyway, what are the thoughts on V-Mach kits? I once (many, many moons ago)had a HW80 tuned by Dave Pope and the transformation was remarkable.

Ta.

Dale.

Well the V-Mach kit is probably only rivalled by the Maccari kit imported from America, I don't know the exact costings but personally I would pay the extra and send it to Steve Pope and have it fitted by the man himself

Thanks for the reply mate.

I believe it's around the £160 mark to get it tuned by the man himself, which I'd gladly pay for the transformation.

How would I stand sending the gun through the post though, given the VCR bill?

As its not a firearm you can send it through the post and receive it. Its owned by you and not being sold so the VCR bill doesn't apply in this situation

I did the same on my HW97K a year before.
Velocity increased almost by 10%.

Not so much a velocity increase I'm after but more usability. Something definately isn't right with my gun, I missed 3 rabbits yesterday, not even I'm that bad a shot . I decided to get some scope work done in the end and I couldn't even hit a Post It size piece of paper at 35 meters. So I've done the evil deed and parted with some cash (rare for a Welshie) and sent for a V-Mach kit from BAR. I also sent for a scope maximiser.

I'll keep you posted, over and out.

Please pardon my ignorance as I am newly back into the game after more than 30 Years :-( so am out of touch somewhat.
So what is a V-Mach and a scope maximiser? Ta
