Default Which type of gun?

Hi guys, I'm new to the sport and need some advice please.
I'm currently looking at buying a new rifle but I don't know which is the best type for me to get.
I want to shoot some game etc to cook.
Budget of about £300 ish, give or take.
What is the difference between the different types of gun such as c02 or pre charged?
how long does it take to charge a gun with one of those pumps?
.177 or .22?
Can anyone recommend a good shop in the west wales area?
Thanks in advance

With that kind of budget, you are probably looking at a spring sporter and I would recommend the Weihrauch HW97K, as I use it myself. The only complaint I have about it is the weight. You will also need to budget for a scope and you can get a cheaper end one for around £50 or so. You may be better off looking at the second hand market as you may get a decent scope as well for your budget but beware, as with all things second hand, there are some dodgy guns and kit out there.

Tuning means just that, a bit like tuning a car and basically, it means working on the insides of a spring rifle in particular, to maximise its performance and make it more user friendly.

hi Dale
have a look in one of the monthly's, there are usually plenty of adds inside them.
Wiehrauch or HW for some reason do make top notch spring rifles and their triggers are a joy to put in the hand, so much so i also treated myself to a HW97k a few months ago when I got back into the sport.

As you say you are new to the sport you should put lots of practice in on some kind of target range, firstly with paper targets and then with a knock over somat like this which ensures that any pellets stay on your property. do lots of this before you go any where near a live target.
a clean kill ensures the pray dosn't get pumped up with adrenalin that will taint the meet.

any more questions just jump in, some one will probably know the answer.

one last thing, the pellet catcher was the same price in my local gun shop so make chums with the local chap and you could end up saving a lot of postage.
