Share a Shoot.

Ok guys, Ive had this idea of making up a register of shoots on the board, from members, who would be willing to Share on a swop basis, ie you come to my shoot and I'll come to yours.

This I feel would benefit those members who have only the one shoot, by visiting other members who have more than one shoot!

I myself have 4 shoots in and around Taunton / Somerset 2 Rabbit shoots and 2 Broad Leaf wood shoots. I therefore have the benefit of being able to shoot most Quarry Species as opposted someone who only shoots Rabbits. ( as dictated by the nature and location of the shoot).

I am prepared to take New comers who wish to learn basic field craft / Hide making and stalking techniques, Im no expert but an enthusiastic Hunter wishing to assist others in ther pursuit of this noble sport.

So, with this in mind, I'll be the first one up.

Nice of you to offer, I believe we should all benefit from this facilty. Newbies even more so. As a point of interest I did post a similar offer on BBs only had 2 replies, just hoping more newbies come on here.

Having 4 shoots myself, I find I don't really have enough free time to access all of them on a regular basis therefore, If I had a willing shooting partner, then 2 guns can clear more Vermin than 1 gun, simple maths.(yes?)

My main objective so far, is to rid the local polo Club's 3 pitches - of Rabbits, they dig scrapes on the pitches with a vengance, the pitches are lawn like grass on a sandy base, the rabbit's ideal habitat.... a valuable horse was put down last year as it stumbled into a Rabbit scape and the owner of the club contacted me through the owner of another shoot I use and hey presto another regular shoot.

Sounds good does'nt it? but having time to get around 4 shoots regularly, is a pain in the rear. At least my other shoots are more recreational than Pest Control, so I do visit the Polo Club most weekends and visit the other 3 as and when I feel the need to hunt different species like Squirrels / Magpies/ crows/ rooks and woodies etc etc

hi m8 if you give me a call (il pm you the number) we can sort somthing out, at the moment i have about 14500 acres of mixed shooting lakes, woods, open land and feilds + 2 golf courses and 1 police collage its hard to get to all of them even with 2 guns doing the job.take care m8 see ya for a spot of shooting soon.

ps, you will need a game licence £6 from the local post office for one of my shoots, not a bad thing to have it is wat the owner wants so must keep him happy

i have not got any land (get the violins out boys), soon to have some hopefully but i would be more than willing to take people on it if the farmer dont mind and they are safe and insured.

Hello chaps yes guess i am a newbie only been seriously at it for the last 12 months in that time i have joined tpc , emley ftc and managed to sercure 3 shoots 2 i have packed up because they were 3 hour round trip and i was not allowed any partners shame because they were good for rabbit and hare.Anyway the other one i have is a small dairy farm shoot which i have not done much on squirrels, rabbits a few pigeon still getting to know the area fields run in to other fields get my drift nice farmer though would probably let me take a partner.

Wish i lived closer to you les would snap your hand of, i am fully insured with basc a car owner willing to travel up to hour away.

So come on chaps give us break

Check my profile , Im a Yorkshireman myself I have mates in Emley, not too far from the mast!! Taunton's about 3 hours from you, shame really, still if you keep your eye on this board some one in your area may give you a shout or if youre ever down this way gimme a shout, I'll sort out a day's sport....

The club is now based at woolley Bank farm side of the M1,

IF your ever up this way give us a shout well worth a visit close to readferns as well but dare i say it emley is quieter in my opinion.
