Default Scope Issues

Hello all,

I have puchased a new 3-9X40 ags mil dot scope but while setting up on my new rifle i came across a problem, when i first raise the scope upto my eye I can see the cross hair purfectly but when i focus on the target after a short period of time the cross hair disapears and i cannot see it all, i dont have this problem with any of my other scopes, i would like your thoughts please

is it that the crosshair is to fine or is it set up on the gun incorrectly

Sounds normal it just needs adjusting for your eye.
Try see if the eye piece move left or right.
To make sure you have set the scope the correct distance from your eye.
Shoulder the gun with your eyes closed and until you feel you are in a comfy position then open your eye and you should be able to see down the scope without moving your head back or forth, if you don't get a clear full circle then move scope accordingly. then try adjusting eye piece

Most scopes come with dis-truction sheets. check out how to set your scope out, but they should read along the lines of.
If your scope is PA, set the PA to infinerty.
Point the scope into the sky, not at the sun.
Then loosen off the locing collar, Adjust the Eye bell end until you get the cross hairs in focus properly, then lock up the eye bell again.
Re-set PA ring to desired range and re-try.
This should cure your problem,
If you usually wear spec's and are shooting without specs, you might be making your eyes focus correctly on the cross hair, then as your eye muscles tire, you loose focus on the cross hairs.
Try shooting with your spec's on it should help if you need them.
