Default Rustie barrel

Just aquired an old Westlake air rifle for my son and I to learn the ropes on. The barrel is a bit rusty, where it has been left in a cupboard for 10 years. has any one got any suggestions what to clean it up with ??
Thanks
MH

Hi if its rusty on the inside throw it away if its cosmetic on the exterior clean with wire wool then rub in a mineral oil (any WD40 3in1 engine oil) to inhibit rust and let the young one enjoy it
