Default Pest Control - Wot kit? Help please :)

Lo all

Ok I LOVE my .177 Daystate Sport, but im keeping it for one disipline only, HFT/FT ........... so....... I wanted some advice

I will, in a week or two, have a fair few acres to call my own, about 10 miles from me

There are Rabbits in abundance, plus the usual Maggies and Pigeons I understand, not too many Tree rats tho

So... what would I be looking to get for this sorta shooting?

.22 is I understand the better calibre for this type of thing, and im not fussed really about a new gun or a second hand one, but I would like a DECENT one, so what do you guys suggest?

Might consider some Lamping too when I have got the land sussed and had a little experience in the field.

A scope recommendation or three wouldn't go amiss either Wheres bloody Gazo when i need his expert advice

Chris

if i had that much land to shoot over my FAC would be sent of by now and a RWS 500 .22 set at 30 - 40ft/lb would be on order

but why fix something that isn't broke
your trusty .177 will do the job you need it to nicely.
at least that way you won't have to get used to a new/second hand rifle scope set up.
IMHO you'll fair better with something that your accustom to shooting even if it is in the girlie cal

im going to apply for the FAC but as far as I know, you need to state on the application wot gun your going to have dont you?

So I would need to have made a choice before sending it off, and I havent made one I dont know enough about the FAC range so again I would like some help there I think

on an fac you have to state what you would like it for, what gun/s u intend to use. then the flo will check the land to see if it is safe. a rimmie may be suitable but it would probably be easier to get an fac air rifle and suit your needs be. there's loads of choice, me id go for a rapid mk2 or mfr every time. you can get some great deals on second hand ones.

chris
you don't need to put your actual weapon on your fac application, just callibre and type. So if you put .177 and .22 air rifle over 12ft/lb you are covered for whichever you get, when you renew in 5 years time, drop the one you don't need. when you get your fac weapon or have one converted its details then get put on your ticket. easey peasey. good luck.
