you preparing for war! I just Google mapped dorset, your about the same as me for distance. PCP are more complex, more to go wrong and servicing cost's. I dont like the idea of filling them up, but know the frequency should not be a bother. I was brought up on springers and see no reason to change.
I recently sold the HMR, have .22LR, provision for both .22/.25 AG FAC, .222 CF x 3SG's. & 2 12FT/lb AG's. Were a good match. Not much shooting going on though due to a recent house move.

yeh fair enuf springs are good and i like them but there isnt a multishot magazine spring powerd air rifle its either pcp or co2 cos i wanted a S410 and fort u cud get them in spring versions but no u cant so im forced to upgrade to pcp as i want a multishot air rifle with bolt action

Yes there is its called a BSA Goldstar 10 shot rotary fed magazine, they use the same magazine as the BSA superten and they are a cracking gun for hardly any money. You can pick up a really good example nowadays for around £200

there's so much disturbance to cock a springer that inserting a pellet hardley matters. I found with the rimfire that a 5 shot mag wasn't enough, you wanted a ten shot, then you wanted a spare as filling up the mag was a chore etc etc.........
PCP is fantastic, I'm not knocking it, I've never tried it, I can see the virtues but not enough cash
ANother point is that if you can shoot well with a springer a PCP ought to be a pop. good practice for full bore
