Talking harris bipods should have a health warning

i took my new bsa hornet (thanks sharkey29) out after some rabbits today and used my bipod for hunting for the first time. well i took a shot and afterwards i 'popped' the legs back up as i had pulled the legs down to try and get the line of sight over the grass. the leg pinched my finger but didnt break the skin but my finger still bled. so i think health warnings should be put on harris bipods

Good job you put your finger in the way - you could have ended up with a nasty gouge/scratch in your stock there!

osok

when i cock my underlever rifles, i plant the stock (shoulder pad) into my right hip and hold the rifle by the pistolgrip with my right hand and pull the lever with my left hand.

i really can't imagine holding the rifle by the barrel whilst cocking it with my other hand

john.

ps, my mate at work brought a tx200 for me to have a look at, it belonged to his daughters boyfriend, while he was working away his little brother found the tx but wasn't strong enough to cock it so he put the lever against the pavement and pushed the stock, he shot loads but bent the lever down like a banana, if he'd been my brother, i'd have bleedin' hammered the little scrote, anyhow, i managed to straighten it in the vice using two pieces of angle-iron, i also removed a load of adhesive cammo tape to reveal bluing in excellent condition (at the owners request)
