Default finding some new shoots

I'm going upto aberporth (near cardigan) for a week on sunday. I'm going to see if any farmers are willing to give permission for me to shoot on their land(loads of farm land in that area of the country).
I've got some fliers made up to post through doors and a local guy I've become good mates with there is going to take me on his rounds to have a word with one or two farmers, is there any more advice anyone can give me on getting land to shoot on?
I used to have quite a bit of land in my teenage years but I had a break for the airgun scene for a while and my land got passed on to other shooters, the owner of one of my shoots has offered me the rights to his land again , but i wouldnt want to take it off the guy who shoots on it now.(not my style ) I presently go shooting with my mate who has thousands of acres of land to shoot on, i just would like some of my own.

BASC or BASA Insurance is must and a door opener

DO NOT turn up in Camo and carrying a rifle - this does not go down too well - casual clothes and good manners will make more of an impact - a copy of the current DEFRA license is a good idea also....

I have over 6,000 acres (4 shoots) and only yesterday received a call from a landowner and now have another shoot ( now have 5) - He is a neighbour of one of my current shoots - once you get one the others will follow as you reputation grows so long as you do the job and show some enthusiasm

If you'd like a copy of the flyer & Shooting permission slip I use - e mail me @ lesmoxon@btinternet.com

I always point out that we (Skeltz and I) recieved basic training in safe shooting from registered range officers as we are mebers of our local shooting club which we regurlarly attend for practise. This has swayed a descision before. Hope this helps.

may have a new shoot and apparently its huge. It's over run with rabbits as the guy who usually works it only takes care of the pigeons that damage the crops.rabbits havent been touched in about 3 years.
how i got it is me and my mate were going for a shoot on one of his farms and he decided to pop into one of his friends houses on the way and me and this guy got talking and he asked me if i had any land, so i said no, and straight away he offered to take me to this farm to introduce me to the farmer as the farmer is desperate for some rabbit control.
So watch this space and I'll tell you how the meeting goes in a fortnight
