Default Colchester Gamekeeper

HI I HAVE JUST ACQUIRED A COLCHESTER GAMEKEEPER SPECIAL EDITION. IT IS NUMBER 17 OF 25. IT HAS WALNUT PISTOL GRIP AND BUTT. IT HAS 3 BARRELS .177 .22 .25. ITS IN TOP CONDITION. I WAS WONDERING IF ANY ONE COULD GIVE SOME HISTORY ON THIS RIFLE AND VALUE FOR INSURANCE. I OWNED AIR GUNS FOR MANY YEARS AS IM A KEEN HUNTER, BUT NEVER SEEN ONE OF THESE BEFORE. MANY THANKS.

I remember reading an article in one of the airgun mags about these rifles years ago,but i can't remember anything of it
I've tried searching too,nothing doing i'm afraid.

I can remember seeing these many years ago. Made by (IIRC) Colchester weapon works (?).
The rifles used to break down in to a small suitcase and were well ahead of time. Very expensive IIRC and at a guess would be worth well over £1k these days with all the collectors out there, might be close to £2k

As John says above. Worth a good bit now. Mick Shepherd had or maybe still has one for sale @ £1300 only two barrels though.

Yes, nice pics too. A real engineering work of art. I bought one of the last few (I think) S/N 101 with 0.22 barrel only still mint of course only fired 2 bottles worth of shots. Was thinking of pressing iy into some real service since it's a shame to just store these items.

Will share any info I have on this item.

Thanks for all your replies chaps. Ive done as much resarch as i can this one is a bit special 3 barrells wallnut stock and pistol grip 2x bottles only 25 0f these specials produced. any way its for sale if anyone comes upwith a good offer as i wont use it im a hunter not a collector regards Elmer
