Default Buckley Wood visit..

Ok! so here's the run down on my visit to Buckley Wood in Devon.

I arrived there at 9am and was met by our own ChrisJ. who was armed to the teeth and ready for anything!!

Car parking is ample and the entrance to the club & range is just across the road.

On entering the club grounds I was greeted by the smell of freshly cooked Bacon and coffee wafting through the tree's, the club has a small porta cabin which serves as an eating, meeting & greeting place, the Bacon sarnies are ace and at a £1 a go, who could resist them!!! Various shooting items are for sale within, I bought a new Black leather pellet pouch for £3.... very nice it is too!!

The Zeroing range: is well thought out, with numerous targets over distances from 8 - 50 yards. Firing line is under cover, built like a bird watching hide, warm, dry and well lit having an electricity supply via a small generator, so plinking / zeroing and competition can be done in all weathers, I was well impressed.

The FT course had the usual suspect targets over various distances, hiding on an overgrown grassy bank and in tree's, a palletised area's denotes the peg and once again a dry-ish shoot could be had. Standing / Kneeling peg targets were in evidence, although Saturday was a relaxed shoot and both members and visitors enjoyed the day.

HFT again, I am well impressed by this course hidden in a wooded area, some targets were difficult to locate, which, as a "REAL HUNTER" myself, found this course to be realistic and well thought out.

The members made me feel welcome and tea & coffe was supplied constantly throughout my visit, allthough comitments elsewhere made me miss the BBQ planned for later on that day & Venison was on the menu: ( maybe next time guy's).

So, in conclussion: Buckley Wood - Air Gun Club gets 10 out of 10 for presentation and layout. I would recommend this club to anyone in the Torbay area, membership cost £25 per year and would in my opinion, be money well spent.

My thanks to chrisj and all the Guy's n Gal's at Buckley wood for an enjoyable vist and next time I'll bring my rifle. ( show you how it's done) why would you need x35 mag Chris????????????

Nice photies Les.

You even got a rare picture of ' Big Hat' jackman shooting an air rifle

Would have been there too, but the traffic on the M5 just depressed me.

Glad you had a good day, and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendship of a typical club in the South West. Visitors always welcome
