Default Bought a Bushnell Legend!!!

Couldn't resist an offer on the weekend - Brand new 5-15 40mm Mildot...Been wanting to try one of these for quite sometime as Ive heard so many postive things....A straight sawp with a beaten up HW80 and the deal was done!

The main reason for my need is weight!! On my Mk2 rapid Ive been using a 56mm SWAT and a 40 / 50mm Leup copies....so here goes my findings....

The Bushy optics are superb no doubt about that and they really excel (over the others mentioned) on full mag....Below X8 theres little to choose from (arguably the Legend is better)...

In low light conditions the SWAT and Leups win clearly....maybe thats because of using a 30mm tube

"Field of view" - the SWAT is far superior to both and is very noticable when compared to the others.

Turrets - The SWAT has to win again. Definate bombproof feel. The Leups being exposed, are tall and vunerable - As I found out when a tree had an arguement...result one Knackered 50mm

Both the SWAT and Leups hold there zero to the point that once set, I rarely adjust....I'm sure the Legend will be equally as good!

Mildots - I know many of you mention spacing of dots but all three scopes are very good in this dept...I really see no advantage other than the SWAT has six either side of zero!

BUT The main point and reason for me to use the Legend is its weight!!!
I would prefer the SWAT everytime but shes a beast..The Legend just makes my combo a little easier to "long haul".....Its also compact so I will give it a try for a few months!

Just my findings......some will agree/disagree........Its always nice to try out new toys!

Anybody want a mint condition SWAT with sunscreen and butler creeks

I don't actually understand why there is such negative comments about the SWAT...........On the BBS they really get a slating.....

Ive bought three now and everytime they've been A1 - no problems whatsoever.........Glass is always V.good!

And Ill probably end up buying another BUT this time I will not be selling my 30mm Theoben rings

Only problem I've suffered with all three swats I've had is they all suffer from ghosting at high mag.

Yes Ive noticed the Ghosting problem.....particularly in bright light!

Generally I run at x7 and then anything 10 upwards to home in....

Looking forward to testing mildots on Bushy....Not sure wether they are true on 12 or 15 mag......Dosen't say in instructions.....

Iam very pleased with the "legend"......she will be staying for a while me thinks!

The Legend's mil-dots are true at 15x, the SWAT is true at 16x. I've got a straight 16x56 SWAT (Leapers version) on a Walther target rifle and for the money I paid it's very good. However I paid US retail not UK so it came in at 65 quid rather than ~200. The prices that the Legends are trading for on import makes them a better bet, overall quality is better and full Bushnell warranty.
