Default Air rifle tuning and fitting a mainspring

Just wondering exactly what is involved when an air rifle gets sent away for "tuning".Read a few threads where people describe their rifle as being tuned and just wanted to know what exactly they do to it.

Also , how easy is it to replace a mainspring ? Been thinking of getting an OX or Titan mainspring for my TX200 HC and would like to do the work myself if its not too difficult.
Last thing I want is parts shooting out all over the place !

Not a difficult job to do fella, what you need is a stripdown guide for your rifle before you try taking it apart though.
One thing you don't want to do is fit an ox spring, they truly are rubbish mate
Fit an AirArms spring, you know it makes sense.

Hi there ,re: tuning a air gun .
full strip down and de grease
plastic spring guides replaced for metal.
Transfer port opening made wider.
new spring fitted,
re assemble using the types of grease and silicon for the job in hand.
chrono test for ft lbs output.
should be a smoother shooter, and a more powerful rifle.

Those kits are for FAC only , and although id love one you cant purchase the kit without showing your certificate and unfortunately I dont have one

If anyone can recommend a decent tuning kit for a tx200 HC id be much obliged.

With a TX your basically getting a tuned rifle out of the box mate, there's not a lot more that can be done.
Just buy a replacement AirArms kit,you should find them in most gunshops.

transfer port opening needs a gunsmith, and it could take the the gun past its limit of 12lbs if not done correctly,it is only a minute tweak, but can boost power .

metal guides are a exact copy of the plastic guides ,and you will need turning experience with a centre lathe.or someone who can do this for you. hope this helps,
