You certainly do have your right to your opinion, even if it is completely wrong and without merit. The fact that YOU can not see the need for a TDR is neither here nor there and implies that you have given the matter no thought, as had you considered their practical usages you would not have made such a vacuous statement in the first place.

For instance, TDRs can be transported in non descript rucksacks that do not arouse any suspicion on the way to one's shoots. Given their relative shortness of length, they can be shot with greater ease and comfort from confined areas. They take up less space in storage. Disassembley means that they can be rendered inoperable. They are considerably more expensive than standard airguns and to date I have yet to read of crminal fraternity showing a preference for AA TDRs or Skans over say pistols or in the case of juvenile delinquints, over springers!

I could go on but the above should provide you with some food for thought! Again, I ask you to you retract your statement

I apologise. I made a blinkered comment about something that I hadnt considered properly. After reading your post I can absolutely see that TDRs could be essential to many types of shooter.
Im sorry for being so brash and hope I havent offended you in any way
Gary.
P.S- Original comment retracted !

I have a TDR & preferred it to the 410 I had, downside is 22 only & low shot count, mine doesn't get out a lot now as the verminator is my preferred hunting tool, but couldn't fault the tdr except for the two reasons as stated above.
Gary
P.S. As for the takedown thing, just because they can be doesn't mean you have to, my verminator has hardly ever been dissasembled, but I do have that option should it ever become useful to me.
