2nd rifle, 22 or 177?
Getting a BSA Lightning XL as a second gun, don't know wether to get a 177 or 22, already have a .22 tx200hc, should I stick with .22 or give a .177 a go?

The problem with getting a .177" rifle now is you have got to learn another set of trajectories.

What do you intend using the new gun for? and at what sort of ranges?

Re: 2nd rifle, 22 or 177?
I went for .177 earlier on this year, it was my first .177. I am well chuffed with it and would recommend you try it.

Re: 2nd rifle, 22 or 177?
I used .22's exclusively for years, wouldn't touch a .177 if yer paid me.
But when I came back into airgunning a couple of years ago I thought I'd give one a try. I don't own any .22's now - I use .177 for everything!
I know everyone's got a different opinion on it, but if you're going to stay below 30 yards, .22 is the best choice. Anything beyond that and a .177 wins everytime. (unless you're going FAC then .22 all the way).
Just my opinion, I'm sure other people have different opinions, but each to their own.
Give it a try you might like it.

Re: 2nd rifle, 22 or 177?
well decided, going for .177 Webley Longbow, not the XL.
Being a lanky git I prefered the longer Longbow over the XL, & I prefer the heavier guns too.
