Default How Does It All Work?

I'm still waiting on one more landowner to reply about using a rimfire on his land and if he says yes i'll start filling out the form.

However, once i've filled out my form, and the referees have filled out theirs, who sends what first? Does it matter if i send mine before them or do they send their form first?

Also, do you get an FEO before getting the FAC granted, or does the FAC get granted and then you get an FEO?
Does the FEO go to the different bits of his land with me or does he go on his own to assess it and speak to the landowner?

What is the general order of these things and how does it all work??

Thanks

Okay, seems your a little confused It's not a hard process or a hard process to grasp.

You fill out your forms. You ask your referees to fill out their forms. You both send you forms to the police. The Firearms licensing dept. then processes your application and checks the information you have provided for truth and accuracy. Once done the FEO (firearms enquiry officer) will come and see you, contact your referees and if the named land you have provided has not been cleared for firearm use, he will contact the landowner and first confirm that you do have permission (will do this anyway) and then request a visit to assess the suitability of the land (may do this even if the land has been 'passed').
If everything checks out you will be granted an FAC.

Simply, not complicated really.

John just about says it all there SS,but there should be some documentation that says a timescale which you & your referees have to send forms in,basically it would be a pain for the police force in question if the three forms went in months apart.
Have a read through the forms again bud,i can't remember how long the timescale is.

One more thing:

What about my dad? He will need an FAC too because he will be the one buying the rifle.

Does he leave the bit about having access to land blank?

And, on my form, do i leave the bit about which rifle i intend to buy blank because he will be the one technically buying the rifle?

Sorry about all the questions but i don't want to screw this up.

you will need to put in the rifle as well otherwise you wont be able to buy a rifle.

your dad would have to say he has permission on the land also (i think)

So we both fill out both sections - land access and rifle you want to buy?

Tell you what fella, the best thing for you would be to give your firearms dept a ring and ask to speak to one of the FEO's and get the advice directly from the horses mouth because one thing that hasn't been answered for you is whether your dad needs the FAC too and what it entails....

Give colinsri a PM on here fella he's from up your neck of the woods and he also has an FAC so he can probably tell you the name of your area FEO's

IIRC the min. age for the grant of an FAC is 18 now.
As you say, best bet would be to call the FLA and speak to a clerk.

I found this it sheds some light on it

Firearms Enquiries | Age Restrictions

As you can see that this page is slightly outdated as being compiled in 2000
