I've just bought one of these for shooting rats outside our wee hovel in the sticks. Fitted it and zeroed it last night, excellent piece of kit, at least for my needs - 2 to 20 yards range. Although it's fitted to a rusty old Webley Vulcan, I'm amazed at it's accuracy in total darkness and the grouping is superb.
Our hovel is surrounded by cctv infra red cameras (el cheapos) which the scope picks the light up from beautifully, for the odd dark corner in shadow there is the inbuilt infra red 'torch' on the scope - wonderful! I love it.
The rats must have heard or sensed my joy because the wee barstewards have done a bunk!![]()

When you get the image onto photobucket are you copying and pasting the whole title in the address bar ??
You could always upload pics straight from your computer if necessary by scrolling down when posting a reply and below the editor box you should see a button "manage attachments" click that and the browse your computer for the pic![]()
I notice in my 'posting permissions' [IMG] code is 'off' - would that account for my difficulty posting pics, if so, how do I switch it on?
Excuse my ignorance, but I is a bit fick wiv computer shenanigans.![]()
Hi Spock,
In my opinion shooting rats with NV gear is about as much fun as you can get with your clothes on. My shooting buddy and I use NV on our rifles when shooting the rats that use the pheasant hoppers as a source of food.
The best night was 53 from three hoppers without moving position. We don't use dedicated NV on the air rifles, preferring to use Bresser NV monoculars attached to the rear of the scope, so that our air rifles aren't tied up with the NV gear. That way they can still be used during the day without chopping and changing sights. We have a .222 Rem that is kept purely for use with NV for foxes, and that proves quite useful at times.
Best of luck, and most of all..........Enjoy!

Hi Casey,
Sorry mate for not replying sooner.
To be honest, if I'd known about the Bresser NV monoculars before I bought the dedicated NV scope, I'd probably have gone for that option just to save some cash.
But personally though, I think it's worked out quite well for me, I have my trusty old Vulcan springer with a 3-9 x 50 30/30 scope for plinking and shooting a mini version of HFT around my garden (when funds allow) and hopefully soon, a pcp fitted with the NVRS for controlling the rats - a win, win situation as far as I'm concerned given my circumstances.
I couldn't agree more!Originally Posted by Casey
