Thanks Les, first part of the plan has been completed and a new scope sits on top of my gun, it's a Tasco (whatever happened to the quality?

) 3-9x40 IR.

Tasco scopes don't seem to be what they used to be. I used Moonlighters before and they were top quality but there is a definate inferior feel to this one. There also seems to be a problem internally, there seem to be fibres or scratches all over one of the lenses, it looks like the reticule lens to me. Not good for a £170 scope.

The tune up will be next but I'm not decided as yet if it will be a V-Mach kit or sending it off to Steve to do.
