Do a search you may find some info that will help, a good letter is a must to get the farmer interested.
I remember posting out over 100 letters and never got a reply but I did not give up and ended up with some cracking land which I think took me about a year to get.
So if you just started looking (unless you fall in lucky) you have a long way to go.
but keep at it, it will be worth it in the end.
